Vero Glezqui, lives and works in Tijuana BC, Mexico.

Multidisciplinary Visual Artist and creator of Hilvenik. Her work is driven by science, pseudoscience and philosophy; she creates correlations between diverse disciplines by playing and appropriating found imagery and theory in order to understand and explore topics that are related to our origin, complexity, identity and the tangible and intangible explored through mix-media work creating analogies and correlations that link the visible to the invisible, and the micro with the macro.

She started her art career in 2003 as part of the first generation of the School of Fine Arts at the University of the State of Baja California, UABC.

She has been rewarded with international and national Artist Residencies since 2008, such as Artist Residency Enschede in The Netherlands (2009), TC3 at the Museo Textil de Oaxaca, Mex in 2011, and the latest at The Parlour Arts Lab in Melbourne Australia in 2012 with her project “Re-threaded Fields”.

She has participated in collective exhibitions the latest being Natural Systems at the Athenaeum Art Center in San Diego along artists Fernanda Uski and Juan Villavicencio, as well as being part of the selection for the XV Bienal de Artes Plásticas del Noroeste (2015-2016), 8th International Biennale Estandartes 2014, 6th National Biennale Miradas 2014 where she was rewarded with honorable mention with her piece “Lucis-scopio”, Tijuana Makes Me Happy at the Los Angeles Mexican Consulate, 2013, Social Climbing at Luis de Jesús Gallery, San Diego Ca, 2009, The 3rd Zone, Consistent Inconsistency, Los Angeles Ca, 2009, Marking Territories: The imaginary lines that limit us, The Loft Gallery, UCSD 2008 y Balen Festival 2009, Enschede, The Netherlands, to name a few.

Her latest Solo Show was in collaboration with Tijuana Artist Hilda Vanessa Ramos at the Centro Cultural Tijuana (CECUT) with a project titled “Inmanente. Analogía Múltiple” in 2013-14. Among other shows: “Re (Formando) el mundo: Making a New World” at the MTO (Textile Museum of Oaxaca, 2011) and “Unthreading and Re-Making Ourselves” in Tetem II in Enschede, The Netherlands in 2009, to name a few.

She has been commissioned with public interventions and murals in Tijuana as part of City and National projects, institutions and public places and has collaborated with artists from Tijuana, Mexico City and France.
